Dairy Farmers of America’s in-house creative team is responsible for delivering exceptional concepts, inspiring content, and delivering results for the Cooperative and its brands. The team works on a broad range of digital and traditional touchpoints for external marketing, internal communications, and large-scale events. These touchpoints are critical in setting the culture and tone for the Cooperative.
In this role, you will write clear, engaging copy for communications and marketing channels, including newsletters, publications, intranet, websites, social media posts, print and digital ads, campaigns, etc., that align with the brand, messaging, and strategic objectives. You will proof and edit internal and external copy, including executing final cold reads prior to press or publication, for adherence to AP and DFA style, brand, messaging, and tone.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Passionately write copy with a keen eye for detail and quality of craft
Collaborate with members of the communications, marketing, and creative teams, as well as with business partners, to ideate and execute engaging copy solutions to meet expectations and objectives
Understand and consistently reflect the brand voice, style, and tone of DFA in writing
Edit copy to ensure it adheres to AP and DFA style, is grammatically correct and readable, and aligns with project objectives, strategy, and messaging
Interview farmer-owners, employees, or others to gather quotes, facts, and content
Communicate and present copy concepts to peers and business partners
Maintain a deep understanding of writing best practices across various digital and traditional channels
Fact check copy to ensure accuracy
Adhere to deadlines as assigned
Commit to and exemplify DFA’s and our team’s mission, vision, and values

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in advertising, journalism, communications, or a related field
2+ years of experience including a portfolio that demonstrates copywriting with an understanding of brand positioning and storytelling across multiple touchpoints
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
Knowledge of copywriting and campaign development
Knowledge of AP style writing
Able to write and edit within a brand voice
Able to demonstrate a readiness to take on new challenges, from big enterprise challenges to smaller tasks, with the same enthusiasm and passion
Able to work collaboratively as part of a larger team or individually in a fast-paced environment
Able to prioritize, manage, and meet multiple concurrent deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
Able to communicate clearly and effectively – visual, verbal, and written – for a diverse range of internal and/or external audiences
Able to think strategically and creatively
Able to problem solve
Able to conduct interviews and work across functions, geographies, and organizational levels to develop solutions
