Flight Team Lead- Night Shift- Independence, KS


* Job Summary *

The Team Lead will assist the VSL or Lead in the area of support with directing, guiding and administrating the team members within the area of support along with continuing to do their daily Flight Team Member job duties and responsibilities.

* Job Responsibilities *

  1. Demonstrate positive peer relationships.

  2. Build rapport with all support teams including engineering, inspection, PE’s, IEs etc.

  3. Ability to set priorities and follow-up set by the VSL/Leadership.

  4. Ability to hold team members accountable by acquirements of swimlane goals, objectives and/or Company need.

  5. Adapt to change quickly.

  6. Deliver the Company message andat times, required to assist VSL/Leader with customer communications, including customer debriefs and updates throughout a visit.

  7. Work in accordance with established safety practices, continuous improvement and quality, including proper use of personal protective equipment; promotes a neat and orderly work area for their area(s) of responsibility.

  8. Completes daily Flight Team Member job duties and responsibilities when applicable

  9. Assist VSL/Leader with any technical training requirements, including identifying training needs and help team members in all technical areas of the function and apprise them of technical quality and performance standards.

  10. Assist VSL/Leader by reporting potential problems, delays, article status, corrective action, shift coordination and follow-up through participation in team meetings.

  11. Assist team members in demonstrating proficiency in proper shop methods, processes, and techniques to perform technical tasks, including any interpretation of documents, i.e., blue prints, schematics, diagrams, drawings, etc.

  12. Advise team members to have proper tools to perform assigned work.

  13. Ensure required checklists and paperwork are properly completed by team members.

  14. Assist team members to immediately report any safety infractions or problems to VSL/Leader.

  15. Report status of work in progress or Company policy(ies) being violated to VSL/Leader.

  16. Cover the responsibilities of another Team Lead in cases where they are absent.


* Education/ Experience *

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Leadership, management, supervisory or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Minimum of 4 years aircraft assembly, troubleshooting, repair, or other relevant manufacturing experience required.

  • High technical knowledge of Company processes including, but not limited to:

  • Building aircraft

  • Clocking

  • Quality processes (i.e. removals, QNS, rejections, etc.)

  • Prints and specifications

  • Andon metrics/update and report out

  • Schedules

  • Know the requirements of the job area

* Qualifications *

  • Have strong communication, organizational and leadership skills.

  • Excellent communication and facilitator skills.

  • Ability to work to schedule with limited direction from supervision.

  • Ability to interact well with team members, Quality Assurance, Engineering and other support personnel to ensure goals are met.

  • Problem solver and troubleshoot with limited supervision.
