Essential Functions –
+ Familiar with the architecture for installation, replacement, configuration, integration, maintenance, load-balance, monitoring, and optimization of network infrastructure components and devices to include switches, routers, firewalls, Intrusion Detection System (IDS)/Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), security appliances, web proxies, reverse proxies and Network Access Control (NAC) appliances, Virtual Private Network (VPN) concentrators, surge/Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) backup and power conditioning devices, head-end equipment for external network connectivity, and the network servers that control and configure these devices
+ Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), cloud networks, servers, and other data communications networks.
+ Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
+ Maintain a VMware Vcenter infrastructure, supporting current virtual server operations. Maintenance includes sustainment of server baselines, patch management, VMware environmental lifecycle management, re-allocation of resources to ensure proper load balancing, monitoring, and deployment of new servers and images satisfying user requirements
+ Provide technical support for both wired and wireless networks, to include, but not limited to, support for software controllers, authentication, and installation and maintenance of wireless access points
+ Install, configure, troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain server configurations (hardware and software) to ensure their confidentiality, integrity, and availability
+ Serve actively on committees and task forces.
+ Work and participate as an effective team member of the Information Technology Services (ITS) department.
+ Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.
+ Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.
+ Complete all HutchCC required training.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Infrastructure Team Lead and Director of IT Services.
