This job was posted by https://www.kansasworks.com : For more information, please see: https://www.kansasworks.com/ada/r/jobs/10574311 Responsible for Press Brake Setup/OperatorEssential Duties and Job Responsibilities:Responsible for setting up CNC (computer numerical control) press brakes from documented work instructions and running production parts from same.Setup - preparing the job to run on the machine and includes oReviewing the work instructionsoLocating the specified toolingoInstalling the tooling in the brakeoLocating the machine programoAdjusting process parametersoRunning the product through the process to create a qualified first piece that meets all specifications.Running production parts means repetitively processing flat blanks into formed product.Operator must be capable of using hand measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, protractor, indi-square, and right angle square.Receive daily instructions from Production Supervisor and plan day accordingly using the Shop Floor Control SystemCheck parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications using proper Template.Must become familiar with the mechanical function of the machines and/or tools, to ensure all safety items are in place before production is started.Gather materials needed with sufficient time to get supplies without interruption of production.Keep work-area clean and organized, picks-up parts that land on the ground, and handles discrepant parts properly.Perform daily maintenance checks on machines and/or equipment, report concerns to supervisor.Train new hires or apprentices Following all safety policies and proceduresMeets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner.Arrives to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled.Must have the ability to clock in and off operations according to sequence number state date of the work order on Shop Floor.REFER to Work Instructions for further details.Skills and Knowledge:Basic understanding of Blueprint reading and basic math skillsAbility to clearly communicate, understand and write in EnglishAbility to interact and work from oral and written instructions.Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as, safety rules, operating and manufacturing instructions, and Company policies and procedures.Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods of activity.Ability to assist in other work-related areas as required. All employees will be cross trained in different areas of the department and pieces of equipment.Ability to operate a fork truck. Ability to work daily and weekly overtime as required.Ability to learn computer skills required.Ability to keep the area clean and orderly.Job Qualifications:18 years of age and pass pre-employment and random drug screens.Previous experience preferred but not required.Must be self-motivated and organized, and have the ability to be self-supervised.Qualified applicants must have a good past work history showing the ability to have longevity in the workforce.Background and Reference checks apply.
