Tyson Foods Associate Sales - Carcass Merchandising in Holcomb, Kansas

Work Shift:

B Shift (United States of America)

SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for sales and merchandising of beef carcasses. This will be done by working closely with U.S.D.A. graders during daily grading and regrading of beef carcasses. This position will also be responsible for knowing and understanding USDA grading standards and the application of Tyson Fresh Meats merchandising specifications; correlating grading of Tyson products with other salespeople; assisting in areas of sales credit billing claims resolution training and invoicing; rotating shifts in complex plants; and other duties as assigned.


Education: BS degree in Animal Science or Agriculture preferred.

Experience: Prior agricultural sales and meat judging experiences a plus.

Computer Skills: Basic PC skills with knowledge of Excel PowerPoint and Word; accuracy in data entry to scale required.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills.

Special Skills: Detailed oriented with accurate record keeping skills. Supervisory: May have indirect supervisory responsibilities to a team of management support and hourly Team Members.

Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time in a cold environment.

Travel: Infrequent relief work to other Fresh Meats beef plants required.

Position Specific Requirements: This position may be expected to relocate to other facilities after a suitable training period and if opportunities arise. This will be predominantly a B shift position with the possibility of rotating in some complexes.
