- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, or saws, monitoring speed and feed of machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and BOM\'s to fabricate and machine parts.
- Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications and maintain consistent production quality using precision instruments such as micrometers.
- Position and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachment, accessories, and materials onto industrial machines.
- Determine methods and sequence of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances from blueprints, drawings, or engineering information.
- Proper use and care of hand and power tools.
- Perform routine safety inspections of equipment and notify supervisor of any problems.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and PPE requirements, follow safety procedures when lifting, pushing, or pulling material and attend all required safety training.
Qualifications:
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Good general mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic hand tools.
- Working knowledge of machines and understanding of the manufacturing process.
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and characteristics of metals and alloys.
- Must be able to perform basic normal math calculations easily.
- Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, shop orders, BOM, timesheets, and written instructions.
- Knowledge of general industrial safety principles.
- Must furnish own machinist tools and standard measuring instruments.
