HaysMed Food Services Manager (Full-time; Days) in Hays, Kansas
Position Summary: The dietetic services manager has these major responsibilities: manages and oversees compliance with regulatory and certifying agencies standards; participates in the evaluation and selection of products, supplies, space, and capital equipment; daily operations management and leadership of the department which supports the hospital facility, the Center for Health Improvement, off-site clinics, business offices and storage buildings; collaborates with hospital leaders, contractors, service technicians and consultants to develop comprehensive plans for efficient and effective operations; participates in planning, data collection, and the preparation of reports as appropriate; serves as a resource and mentor; assists in the development of short-term and long-range goals and objectives; selects, orients, supervises, manages and evaluates all staff members; develops operational and capital budgets and maintains financial operations; evaluates and maintains fair market value for outreach service pricing; develops policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain standards of care and regulatory requirements; serves as a liaison between staff, other medical personnel and outreach facilities; and provides leadership in problem-solving and team building.
Provides positive leadership by an environment of teamwork, open communication and customer service.Responsible for human resources processes including interviewing and orientating staff, ongoing performance management and timekeeping/scheduling and required documentation.
Assists in developing financial budget to achieve corporate strategies and financial targets, manages areas of responsibility to optimize revenue and reduce costs.
Assists in managing policies and work instructions for compliance with regulatory standards and to improve the overall operation of the facility.
Participates in the evaluation and selection of products, supplies, space, and capital equipment.
Oversees or directly delegates responsibility for maintenance schedules on equipment and ensures that equipment is safe, sterile, and operational for patients and personnel.
Infection Control: Initial and Ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Trainings could include but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment.

Education/Experience: Post high school (vocational or college) 2-4 degree preferred; 5 years supervisory / management experience with operations of a comparable healthcare, commercial or industrial facility preferred; experience with regulatory agency requirements relating to nutritional operations preferred; working knowledge of MS Word and Excel preferred; highly developed interpersonal, organizational, analytical, team building and communication skills; ability to use a computer and willingness to learn necessary computer skills and software.
Certificates and Licenses: Registered and licensed dietitian preferred; additional certification may be required for certain patient care settings or populations. Specific information and the timeframe in which such certification must be attained will be provided by the department director/manager/supervisor at time of hire/transfer into department.
