This job was posted by https://www.kansasworks.com : For more information, please see: https://www.kansasworks.com/ada/r/jobs/11372521 Assist with the installation, inspection, testing, and repair of substation equipment including power transformers, load tap changers, high voltage circuit breakers, switchgear, and various electronic systems with the majority of the duties involving working with alternating current (ac) and direct current (dc) circuits between 48 and 600 volts. Assist with compliance testing and documentationMaintenance and RepairAssist with the operation and maintenance of substations. Assist with common and advanced maintenance testing, including insulation power factor, insulation resistance, contact resistance, turns ratio, high potential, current injection, breaker time/travel, and oil and gas analysis of circuit breakers, load tap changers, transformers, and other substation equipment. Maintain mechanical and electrical parts of circuit breakers, control panels, relay panels, ac and dc circuits, batteries, battery chargers, and transformers; and maintain substation yard, fence, gate, and security systems. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic stored energy systems and stand-by generators. Drive and maintain tractor trailer equipment. Assist with the operation and maintenance of our oil reclamation equipment. Participate in substation switching procedures during planned and emergency repairs.Support the replacement of spare parts used in repair activities.ConstructionAssist with the installation of switches, breakers, transformers, voltage regulators, capacitors, circuit switchers, ac and dc systems, conduit and cable raceways, and grounding systems; pull terminate cable; and install control metering and relay panels. Assist with acceptance testing of installed equipment and substation commissioning.Compliance: Inspection, Documentation and TestingAssist with the periodic inspections and gather all necessary data for generation of reports and updating of records. Assist with the testing of breaker controls and protection schemes including battery and charger testing.
