The title and pay rate for this position will be based upon qualifications and years of experience of the successful candidate, and placement within the organizational structure.
Staff Engineer: Under the supervision of the Utility Manager, the Staff Engineer is responsible for assigned projects, O&M tasks, and some supervision of the Engineering Technicians and other staff. The Staff Engineer will coordinate, schedule, oversee Utility Department programs, CIP projects, perform development reviews and coordinate with other internal and external entities. This employee should possess strong design, communication, technical, supervisory and organizational skills. Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering. Experience in project management, construction, design, and/or utility infrastructure maintenance is desirable.
Senior Staff Engineer: Under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement, the Senior Staff Engineer is responsible for assigned projects, project management, and tasks, and supervision of the Engineering Technicians and other staff. The Senior Staff Engineer will prepare estimates and budgets, coordinate, schedule, construction project plans and monitor project development. This employee should possess strong project management, design, communication, technical, supervisory and organizational skills. Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years increasingly responsible professional Civil Engineering experience, including four years of project management, administrative and supervisory responsibility is required. Must be a Registered Professional Engineer in Kansas or obtain registration within one year.
Requires the possession of a valid drivers license and a good driving record. Hours: M-F; 7:00 A.M. 3:00 P.M. Application Deadline: Open Until Filled.
