Job Description
Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
Production Process Assistance
Monitoring Equipment : Assist in monitoring various production equipment like spray dryers, evaporators, and separators.
Raw Material Handling : Help with receiving, inspecting, and preparing raw milk for processing.
Quality Control Checks : Participate in testing moisture levels, fat content, and other parameters of the powdered milk to ensure product quality.
Batch Documentation : Assist in recording data related to each batch produced, including temperatures, processing times, and deviations.
Process Optimization : Observe and suggest minor improvements in the production process for efficiency or cost savings.
Quality Assurance & Control
Sampling Procedures : Learn and assist in proper sampling techniques for milk and milk powder at different stages of production.
Lab Testing : Participate in laboratory tests to check for microbial contamination, shelf-life, nutritional content, and safety standards.
Sensory Evaluation : Assist in evaluating the final product for taste, texture, and appearance.
Hygiene Monitoring : Work with the quality control team to monitor hygiene and sanitation standards in production areas.
Maintenance & Safety
Preventative Maintenance : Shadow the maintenance team in performing routine maintenance of machinery to prevent breakdowns.
Safety Audits : Participate in regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
SOP Review : Assist in reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various equipment and processes.
Administrative Tasks
Data Analysis : Help analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or opportunities for improvement.
Report Writing : Assist in writing weekly or monthly reports summarizing production data, quality issues, or efficiency improvements.
Internal Audits : Shadow internal audits of production processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Requirements
The qualified candidate will be a junior or senior in the fall of 2025 with a degree focus in Engineering or Food Science or related field.
