This individual will be responsible for the management of all mill operations, personnel, and inventory as well as overall profitability and operation of the department.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(Includes the following and other duties may be assigned)
+ Responsible for all feed production, processing and deliveries for company's feed mills.
+ Proactively communicates with customers, employees and other departments.
+ Responsible for staff nutrition recommendations to customers.
+ Responsible for feed department P&L, sales information and margins, forecast & budgets.
+ Maintaining feed and ingredient purchasing, inventory, stocking and monthly inventory tracking.
+ Responsible for office staff, sales staff, truck drivers, mill assistants, and part-time feed mill employees.
+ Maintains quality control of all products produced at the mills to meet or exceed State & Federal standards.
+ Oversees mill preventative maintenance, repair and housekeeping.
+ Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of all production and inventory records.
+ Maintains a high customer impression of the Company, mills and its employees.
+ Works with other division managers to achieve maximum utilization of employees and equipment.
+ Assist other departments/locations to accomplish company goals.
+ Provides excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situation; responds promptly to customer needs, resolves questions, complaints, and concerns immediately and meets commitments.
+ Effectively communicates by verbal and written means with customers, employees, and management.
+ Maintains a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the cooperative.
+ Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures and reporting requirements.
+ Complies with all state and federal laws, codes, and regulations.
+ Presents a clean and professional appearance for oneself, your staff and Company assets.
+ Responsible for prompt and regular attendance.
+ Employee is required to perform all other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESDirectly supervises employees in the Feed Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and solving problems.QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
