TITLE: WIM Technical Team Lead

LOCATION: Ft. Leavenworth, KS


Position Summary:

Coordinates, analyzes, designs, schedules, and plans military simulations and training events to satisfy customer requirements and mission objectives. Provides specific subject matter expertise on the use, set-up, configuration, test, operation, and troubleshooting of command and control, simulation, and gaming systems to support troop training. Conducts analyses to evaluate customer technical training needs to determine appropriate training content, objectives and design. Independently assembles and conducts complete customer training to satisfy customer training requirements. Establishes processes for identifying training content and evaluating training effectiveness to ensure learning objectives are met and improvements are incorporated. Oversees, coaches and develops others.

Essential Functions:

•Reviews and evaluates customer requirements by assessing training needs (e.g., current skill level, experience, environment.) Ensures technical data, design requirements, and objectives are accurate and available to develop training courses.

•Supports the development of schedules, interpreting statement of work requirements, and developing basis of estimate. Oversees, designs, develops and documents extensive, specialized training objectives (e.g., enabling, supporting, terminal, learning) based on analysis of customer requirements and technical resource data to design training course material. Reviews and evaluates training objectives developed by others.

•Assesses and documents training needs, develops and delivers training as needed to enhance end-user understanding and performance. May partner with other specialists (e.g., designers, developers, engineers, programmers, technical publications/LSA) to determine the content of training material at the system level. Observes and tracks student performance. Recommends improvements as necessary.

•Supervises set-up of training materials and facilities.

•Sets up, configures, tests and operaties comand and control and simulations sydtems. Trains unit trainers in operation of these systems. Recovers systems as applicable.

•Tests and evaluates computer simulation exercises and provides feedback and recommendations.

•Develops, coaches and mentors less experienced trainers.

•Complies with commercial, government, regulatory and organizational standards and specifications (e.g., export control, ISO, SCORM) during development of complete courses. Explains or interprets regulations and standards to others.

•May assist with proposal development as member of a proposal team.

•Performs other duties as assigned.

Typical Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred skills and/or experience:

•The WIM Technical Lead shall have four (4) years of recent experience (within the past 7 years) with WIM (all enclaves) leading technical teams in JLCCTC VV&A activities, WIM software development, and networking experience.

•The WIM Technical Lead shall have experience with Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Solaris families of operating systems.

•The WIM Technical Lead shall have experience in setting up and operating WIM in both the ERF and MRF configurations.

•The WIM Technical Lead shall have experience in use of Radiant Mercury and the Tactical Control Support Processor in a JLCCTC Architecture.

•The WIM Technical Lead shall have experience in software testing, analysis, troubleshooting, and writing Problem Trouble Reports.

•The WIM Technical Lead shall have experience in managing/providing help desk support, rendering technical advice, and offering WIM functional assistance.

•The WIM Technical Lead shall have experience in problem solving abilities.

•The WIM Technical Lead shall have a current SSBI and access to TS SCI.
