As well as, assist with the maintenance of TVDS Fort Scott Service Center buildings, equipment, vehicles, and grounds by carrying out assigned work order projects and responding to emergency maintenance situations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Works cooperatively with all other staff in developing, maintaining knowledge of and carrying out each assigned individual's person-centered action plan (including personal-hygiene responsibilities).Supervise, instruct and guide workers in work skill development and work habits while performing transportation functions.Instruct, observe, monitor, guide, and document progress of clients in learning work and other life skills as defined in the individual's person-centered plan while performing transportation functions.Develop adaptive devices such as jigs for clients to use in the work place.Observes worker and ensures work is performed according to prescribed methods and meets established quality standards of customer.Monitors and administers medications and other therapies as prescribed and authorized by physicians.Provides transportation for individuals served. Safely use lifts or other approved devices to transfer clients.Prepares and maintains work files, production records, time sheets and other regular data systems of each assigned person.Keeps accurate and current mileage logs.Perform or schedule repairs on assigned TVDS vehicles.Maintain a responsive work order system.Plan and carry out, or oversee, approved building and grounds improvement and maintenance at all applicable TVDS locations.Complete documentation for purchases related to repairs and maintenance.Provide maintenance reports as required.Maintain a mature, professional and friendly relationship with all TVDS clients, vendors, visitors, and staff.Act as the primary liaison between TVDS and repair/maintenance/service contractors.Presents positive, fair, and accurate image of Tri-Valley Developmental Services, Inc. to public.Attends and participates in Agency In-services and Staff meetings as required.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or equivalent. One year of work experience in building trades and/or building maintenance. Driving record must be acceptable to Tri-Valley's insurance carrier. Must obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a CDL medical examination.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with persons with developmental disabilities, parents and guardians, co-workers, management personnel, and the public.
