Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Military Trainer - Information Operations Scenario Writer to join our growing team of diverse professionals supporting our Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas . The MCTP trains Brigade, Division, and Corps Commanders and their staffs during simulation-driven command post Warfighter Exercises (WFX) in support of Large-Scale Combat Operations and across Multi-Domain Operations.
The Information Operations Scenario Writer assists with training during Mission Rehearsal, Warfighter and Large-Scale Combat Operations (MRX/WFX) with subject matter expertise integrating Information Operation (IO) tasks of collection, analysis, and dissemination into MRXs/WFXs to ensure that military commanders and other senior leaders who may deploy have the knowledge and skills needed to effectively manage IO Scenario writing, planning, and execution. Support includes developing storyline injects and the capability to adjust Master Scenario Event Lists (MSELs), ensuring proper realistic injects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates with the Higher Command (HICOM) Cell to maintain a credible and coordinated exercise scenario, and coordinates and integrates all IO actions not accomplished in the simulation with the Joint Effects Division (JED), S35 Scenario Enterprise, S-3 Operations, or through established Workarounds.
Assist in the replication of EAC functions not otherwise addressed by maneuver control in EXCON; and flank/EAC assets as necessitated by exercise design.
Maintain a database capable of showing all aspects of IO as employed in the exercise and update the database to reflect changes.
Develop a draft IO plan for each exercise and provides the responsible exercise Government planner a monthly listing of changes to the plan.
Provide a coordinated draft IO Annex (STARTEX MOA) prior to execution of the exercise for review by the JED Chief and the S35 Scenario Enterprise Chief.
Train, monitor, and advise the WCOPFOR Tactical Commander on IO and develop draft IO events recommended for inclusion in the Road to War for the S35 Scenario Enterprise Chief to present to the Exercise Director.
Maintains and develops a robust, multi-platform social media environment within the Information Operations Network (ION)
Prepare recommended IO workarounds to present to MCTP Rules and Workaround Committee.
Synchronize and supervise the execution of all exercise storylines and associated MSELs.
Basic Qualifications:
One of the following:
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of professional leadership experience
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of professional leadership experience
Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional leadership experience
Familiar with current Army doctrine
Highly proficient with MS Office suite of software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
Highly proficient at operating across social media platforms.
Experience in Marketing, Public Affairs, Psychological Operations, or Information Operations
Must be able to travel as needed both CONUS and OCONUS (up to 25% of the time)
Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.
Must be able to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent experience supporting current operations.
US. Army Command and General Staff Officer Course, or MEL 4 equivalent Intermediate Level Education (ILE).
Served as an FA30 or in a 30A authorization at Division level or higher.
Experience working with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) or Interagency/Joint environments.
An active DoD Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
Superb interpersonal and communication skills, as well as professionalism.
Salary Range: $67,800 - $101,600
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
