Tyson Foods Part Time Labor Value Added - B in Emporia, Kansas

Job Purpose/Summary:

This position is part-time; averaging less than 30 hours per work week. This position could work in any department of the production facility; Processing, Ground Beef or Value Added.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Positions may involve the use of a knife and hook to bone out or trim meat, sorting, labeling, bagging and boxing various meat cuts or the use or operation of powered equipment, such as saws, skinners, Multi-Vacs, Cryovac machines etc. Most positions require the ability to push, pull, carry and lift 40 pounds or more and use of hands and arms above shoulder level and walk and stand 8-12 hours a day on a hard surface. Work is performed in cold/wet environments.

Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment; wearing all safety equipment required. All positions will be for either A (day) or B (afternoon/evening) shift. The facility runs 5 to 6 days a week, Monday-Friday/Saturday with some areas of the facility that may work an occasional Sunday. Previous knife skills are preferred but not required.

All job offers are based on conditions that the candidate can pass a urinalysis screening, which is part of the post- offer health assessment. Mechanical aptitude, skills and experience preferred but not required. Applicants who have worked for Tyson previously will not be considered.
