We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. As an LPN, you will administer medications, notes patient condition changes in charts, records vital signs, and provides basic care according to the treatment plan. Administers routine services in caring for selected sub-acute, convalescent, and chronic patients, and assists RN in care of the more acutely ill, injured, persons in a hospital setting. May administer medications under supervision of a Registered Nurse.

DUTIES:

• Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition
• Plans and manages patient care according to each patients needs
• Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, height, weight, allergies, and current meds and respiration
• Provides routine care for patients
• Observes patients health
• Reviews medical charts
• Communicates with patients and their families
• Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler
• Prepares specimens for lab
• Administers medications
• Evaluates and documents intervention and patient response to treatment
• Administers enemas douches, perineal care, Foley Cath care, colostomy care, and suppositories.
• Follows and adheres to isolation techniques and universal exposure control procedures for
• infection control
• Assist patients with mobility, transferring to and from wheelchair, stretcher, commode, or ambulatory status with or without crutch or walker assistance
• Assist physician in emergency care, in accordance with the charge nurses directions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program
• One (1) years experience in a hospital setting preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSURE, REGISTRATIONS

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in the state of Kansas.
• IV Certification preferred but not required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtain BLS certification within 60 days and always maintain a valid CPR certification during his/her employment.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required or obtain ACLS certification within the first year of employment and always maintain a valid ACLS certification during his/her employment.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required or obtain PALS certification within the first year of employment and always maintain a valid PALS certification during his/her employment.
