How you will contribute
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Seamer (ERW) Operator (Evening Shift) position in the Global Utility Division . We are looking for a highly driven individual to operate the Electronic Resistance Welder to fuse together the seams of a pole to create a complete part. Additionally, you will…
Program and operate various control panels on the ERW machine to move pole shafts into the seaming processor
Perform calibration and set-up of equipment
Follow blueprints, layouts, templates, and work orders to obtain various dimensions
Inspect all parts produced to ensure quality standards
Complete required reports and records with appropriate data and accuracy
Calculate formulas using basic math, standard U.S. and Metric Measurements
Maintain the cleanliness of all equipment and machinery and perform preventative maintenance regularly
Work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time product without manufacturing errors
Perform various other duties as requested by the supervisor to ensure customer requests are met
Actively participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures
What it takes
At the end of 90 calendar days the candidate must be able to pass a welder qualification test
Knowledge of welding properties of a variety of metals and alloys
A thorough knowledge of welding procedures and practices are essential to ensure the quality of the product. This will include the ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics, standard U.S. and Metric Measurements.
The ability to prioritize work in order and complete deadlines
The ability to read and decipher blue prints and flat sheets without assistance
The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
At the end of 90 Calendar days the candidate must be able to maintain an acceptable level of production, quality and attendance as determined by Management
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
