SSOE Group Structural Engineer in De Soto, Kansas

SSOE is looking to hire a Structural Engineer to join our team. You will have the opportunity to create designs for state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities for the world’s leading high-tech companies. Our Structural Engineers provide engineering and structural analysis & calculations, work on exciting design projects for industrial facilities, semiconductor fabs, manufacturing, and/or similar environments, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and collaboration. This position will be a hybrid position, requiring occasional onsite work.
Produces organized structural calculations for support systems required to enable lead discipline designs and assist lead structural engineer.
Analyze existing structures for new loads and provide recommendations for strengthening where required.
Design new efficient structural systems using steel, concrete, and strut and deliver design information on time.
Develop understanding of multifaceted client to better solve unique conditions.
Apply creative problem solving skills to see beyond standard answers.
Consults with supervisor to screen assignments for unusual or difficult problems and selects appropriate methods and techniques to apply.
Exercises judgment for engineering decisions for some aspects of design, but receives supervision and direct input on new aspects of assignment.
Sketches design into completed working details and drawings based on engineering fundamentals.
Develop and validate computer models of complex structural systems.
Communicates with supervisor concerning progress or problems in an assigned task.
Perform field verifications / site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. May troubleshoot design problems in the field during construction.
A Bachelor's or Masters degree in Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited college.
Current Professional Engineer (PE) and Structural Engineer (SE) licensure is a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge of building codes, including seismic requirements is required.
Experience with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD.
Experience with REVIT is required.
Experience performing field verifications and site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. Ability to troubleshoot design problems in the field.
Salary Range: $68,000 - $98,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
