Job Description:
Complete various tasks related to maintaining and testing reference standards for biologics, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Essential Duties:
Help to manage the system or program responsible for organizing and tracking reference standards used in biologics production or research at sites within the United States.
Ensure that all activities related to reference standards and in vitro potency testing adhere to the guidelines and regulations set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Conducts in vitro testing for stability of reference standards of pre- and post-licensure products.
Prepare and test small quantities of vaccines to aid in the development or refinement of new reference standards used in biologics production or research.
Provide assistance in the formulation (creation), dispensing (distribution), and testing of new reference standards to ensure they meet the necessary qualifications for use in biologics manufacturing or research.
Work closely with individuals from various departments within the organization, such as Research and Development (R&D), Production, Quality Control, and Regulatory Affairs, to help qualify new reference standards.
Prepare the necessary documentation, such as protocols (detailed plans or procedures) or reports, required for submission to the USDA to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.
Education& Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in a biological area
1-3 years of laboratory experience
Animal health experience preferred.
