Unifrax Engineer in Council Grove, Kansas

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

This hands-on engineer, who doesn’t mind getting dirty, must have experience with 3D CAD, be proficient in MS Office applications, have at least 2 years’ experience with process development and/or process improvement projects in a manufacturing environment. It is preferred that this open-minded and inquisitive person have a BS in Engineering and have a background in continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, 6sigma, knowledge in data-driven process control or basic SPC and demonstrated success as a problem-solver. It would be nice if this collaborative person has experience in kiln operation, fiber casting, ERP software as pertains to BOM management and cross-functional teams.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Strong work safe mindset.

  • Strong drafting skills with SOLIDWORKS.

  • Experience with CNC operations

  • Effectively and efficiently managing assigned projects (new product or capital improvement).

  • Quality system documentation.

  • Implementing process controls.

  • Maintaining personal involvement in the development of standards and best practices.

  • Timely response to production’s immediate needs.

  • receiving/implementing new products/new process changes.

  • identifying and correcting and/or elevating process deviations.

  • assisting in resolving operation obstacles.

  • maintaining accurate routings and work instructions.

  • training/developing trouble-shooting methods/skills to operators.

  • initiating and valuing processes and product changes.
