TOPIC: JOB DESCRIPTION FOR CNA FOR NURSING CENTER

SUPERVISOR: CHARGE NURSE

REQUIREMENTS: CURRENT KANSAS CNA LICENSE

JOB DUTIES IN THE NURSING CENTER INCLUDE:

1. Resident care. This includes assistance with ADLs including dressing, bathing, toileting, oral care, transfers and transports. Additional tasks will depend upon position, training and licensing, but resident care is the primary and essential task of every person in this department. If not involved in additional tasks, all nursing staff should be engaged in direct resident care. Urgent needs of residents such as a resident falling, an acute medical emergency, toileting, or answering call lights, or transfers to the hospital take priority over all other tasks, breaks, or schedules. The CNAs at Sunset Home provide the majority of hands on care for our residents and are critical to our residents health and safety. The ability to work with other members of the nursing team, communicate patiently with residents, staff, family and visitors, maintain confidentiality, safely perform transfers and report any changes or concerns of resident or families are crucial. Resident care will be done according to the care plan for each resident.
2. Reporting any changes in resident condition to charge nurse or DON.
3. Coordinate assignments with other staff at beginning of shift.
4. Specific duties for each shift, please refer to the duty sheet that follows.
5. Charting will be completed before leaving at the end of the shift.
6. Make recommendations to charge nurse or DON of needs of facility.
7. Additional duties as assigned by charge nurse or DON.
8. Comply with the Facilitys personnel and safety policies and procedures

Drug test will also be done.
