Position Goals

Repair and maintain equipment for resale.

Summary

Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of industrial equipment with the intention of resale.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, analyze, Dissemble and inspect mechanical breakdowns
  • Repair defective equipment (making and installing new parts), redesign inefficient equipment, and rig and move equipment
  • Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications
  • Inspects machinery for any needed repairs; performs minor repairs within expertise.
  • Maintain tools, clean work site and utilize safety equipment with cooperation and notification of operations personnel
  • Complies with applicable safety standards and regulations.
  • Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills

  • At least 10 years experience
  • Knowledge of 480 / 240 volt, 3 phase and 120 volt electrical.
  • Knowledge of machining and welding
  • Knowledge of the use of tools based on both metric and English measurement
  • Ability to make mathematical calculations involving decimals, fractions, addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.
  • Ability to make measurements in units of inches, feet and yards. Knowledge of to operate various power tools and equipment
  • Knowledge of the operation, installation, preventive maintenance and repair of a wide variety of equipment such as pumps, drives (gear sets, chains, sprockets, belts, sleeves, clutches, and U-joints), bar screens and other wastewater treatment mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledgeable of environmental rules and regulations, and effectively apply them to all
  • Ability to work independently, follow written and verbal instructions, and work cooperatively with personnel.

Working Conditions

  • Must have physical ability required to perform work in an awkward position or in cramped conditions, including confined spaces.
  • Prolonged standing, crouching, kneeling, and stooping for extended periods of time.
  • Performs repetitive motions including, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
  • Must have the ability to work in very noisy conditions and around equipment where odorous fumes, oil, grease and chemicals exist.
