CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Pipelines & Terminals division in Chase, KS. We are looking for a Mechanic to perform repairs, preventative maintenance, replacements, or adjustments to ensure the availability and reliability of all area equipment. You must be a self-motivated, detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work in both a team environment and on self-directed tasks are necessary.
Perform required maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, meters, mixers, and other miscellaneous equipment in a safe workman like manner and with the highest achievable quality.
Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on equipment in the assigned area of responsibility to minimize unscheduled downtime and to improve the availability and the reliability of equipment.
Record and monitor equipment run time, vibration trends and results of oil analysis to help predict failures and help develop the preventative maintenance schedule.
Keep accurate record of work done and work to be done including compliance with all required documentation for the D.O.T.
Keep an accurate inventory of all equipment within the assigned area of responsibility.
Keep an inventory of spares and critical repair parts for all equipment on the pipeline in the assigned area.
Be familiar with and comply with all applicable safety procedures such as lockout-tag out, hot work permits, confined space entry, etc.
Participate as a member of the area work team and perform other duties as requested or needed.
This position is subject to emergency callouts on nights and weekends.
This position requires some out-of-town travel.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
1 Year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; AND/OR
1 to 3 years related experience and/or training
Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
