The RN in the Surgery Department provides nursing care for patients having surgical procedures performed as inpatients and outpatients. Care is given to patients with general, spinal, epidural, regional, IV and local anesthesia.Nursing care is provided pre-operatively, intra-operatively in the surgical suites, and post-operatively in the post anesthesia recovery area.Infection prevention practices are strictly followed.AORN and ASPAN standards are followed.The RN always serves as the patient advocate regarding care, safety, and privacy.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned. Is expected to work varying hours and take holiday and weekend call.
