Full Job Description:

Optimized Process Furnaces, Inc. ( OPF ) has been a leading designer of Heat Transfer Equipment since 1972. Based out of Chanute, KS, OPF designs Direct Fired Heaters, Waste Heat Recovery Units (WHRUs), Air Preheat Systems ( APH ), and SCRs. OPF also oversees and manages the fabrication of our equipment at local fabrication shops. We are looking for an experienced engineer in thermal or process design with sales experience. The new team member will be responsible for the process design and proposal development for new heater projects.

This job opening is for a position in the Process Design/Sales group. Primary responsibilities include the following:

· Build and maintain relationship with OPF’s area representatives and customer base

· Build and maintain relationship with OPF’s sub vendors for packaged equipment

· Review Request for Quotes (RFQs) and review customer specifications

· Process/Thermal design of process equipment, including Fired Heaters, WHRUs, Air Preheat systems, and Selective Catalytic Reduction ( SCR ) systems

· Submit RFQs to OPF sub vendors for packaged equipment

· Evaluate sub vendor technical bids

· Coordinate with Engineering and Procurement to develop formal proposals

· Participate in Design Review, Pre-Award, and Project Kickoff meetings with customers

· Organize multiple projects at the same time

Minimum Experience, Training, and Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; preferably Mechanical or Chemical

· 3 – 10 years of work experience in Heat Transfer

· Strong communication and organizational skills

· Customer service experience

· Experience with Fired Heaters, Waste Heat Recovery Units (WHRUs), boilers, heat exchangers, process burners, air preheat systems, or similar equipment

· Experience in heat transfer, process design, combustion design, or similar fields

· Familiarity with FRNC -5 heater simulation software, API ( STD 560), ASME

Work Location:

· Full time office position in Chanute, Kansas

· Occasional domestic travel for meetings and customer visits

· Rare international travel


M-TH: 7:30 am – 5:30 pm (1 hour lunch break)

F: 7:30 am – 11:30 pm
