Purpose

To provide quality batches in a safe and timely manner so that the production continues operation throughout the shift and to ensure production goals are met.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsibility includes the management of activities for the safety, integrity, legality and quality of our food products.

  • Mix batches by following instructions on batch sheets

  • Properly place ingredients in position for efficient operation of mixer

  • Ability to handle all ingredients including the allergens used in the plant.

  • Maintain a good attendance record in order to meet production demands.

  • Perform job duties in a manner that follows all safety guidelines including but not limited to proper lifting techniques, use of required PPE, Lockout/Tagout, etc. Report all unsafe conditions and behaviors to supervisor

  • Perform job duties in a manner that follows all food safety, quality and legality guidelines including but not limited to GMP's, Glass Policy, QA Policy, Sanitation Policy, HACCP, etc. Following these policies will ensure a quality product for our customers and consumers.

  • Work towards the goal of zero waste.

  • Make recommendations/suggestions to improve processes and product flow.

  • Keep work area clean and free of litter.

  • Operates processing equipment in the food manufacturing facility.

  • Properly mixes all varieties of product in a manner to insure consistency and quality within QA and R&D specifications.

  • Provides accurate recordkeeping of lot codes, batches and all required data.

  • Responsible for operating equipment used in preparation, mixing, and finishing product. Equipment includes but not limited to mixers, depositor, conveyors, etc.

  • In some facilities, may monitor shape quality for make up as to proper size, surface defects, rolling and general shape and ensure line speeds and strokes per minute are maintained as per schedule.

  • Assists supervision in proactively identifying problems and providing solutions.

  • Recognizes and reports any signs of product tampering.

  • Maintains cleanliness on line and 5S standards. Equipment and work areas must be kept organized, clean and sanitary throughout the shift. End of shift requires removal of any waste and garbage generated during the shift. Ensure proper care of equipment.

  • Follows all safety procedures and participates in safety training. Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and PPE. Reports any injury, accident or unsafe condition immediately to supervisor.

  • Supports product safety, quality and legality.

  • Follows all company policies and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/ Competencies

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Ability to read, speak and write English so as to assimilate, retain, and apply training and knowledge of job functions and recognize and communicate problems and recommended solutions.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Strong attention to detail is essential.

  • Must be able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.

  • Knowledge of computer controls for various machines.

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

  • Able to work well in a team setting.

  • Demonstrates excellent attendance and punctuality.

  • Must be able to work alternate shifts, overtime and/or weekends as required

  • Must be able to wear company provided uniform.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

  • The employee frequently is required to stand for a prolonged time, walk, climb steps and work on elevated platforms.

  • The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Starting Pay: $22.00/hr

Potential Schedules:

  • 7:00 PM – 5:30 AM

  • 7:30 PM – 6:00 AM

  • 8:30 PM – 7:00 AM

  • 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM
