We believe our employees are our most important asset which is why we offerexcellent benefits, competitive wages, and the opportunity togrow professionally.A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A OPERATIONS SPECIALISTAs an Operations Specialist, you have a jack of all trades mentality as you work with both grain and agronomy departments to provide the services each facility needs. You work hard to ensure that our grain handling, grain storage, and agronomy facilities are in top-notch shape by completing housekeeping and maintenance duties for each one. Each day youenjoy the fresh airas you have the opportunity towork outsidein all kinds of weather. Your outstanding communication skills come in handy as you interact with customers when you are loading and unloading grain trucks and rail cars.In the spring you assist the agronomy department by using various equipment including a tractor/trailer, skid steers, forklifts, wheel loaders, and tractors with attachments. Working closely with agronomy, you complete tendering for applicators, fill anhydrous tanks, and load and handle fertilizer, chemicals, and herbicides. Although Farmers Cooperative does everything they can to ensure the safest work environments for employees, there are some hazards involved with working in a train load-out and agronomy facility. This is why you stay up to date on safety procedures and try to minimize hazards. Your passion for agriculture shines through as you complete your work each day.QUALIFICATIONS FOR A OPERATIONS SPECIALIST* High school diploma or equivalent* Class B CDL with Hazmat Endorsement (training is provided)* Willing to take the grain grading class (training provided)* Fumigation license (training provided)* Knowledge of basic millwright operations* Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, and crawl* Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and occasionally lift 100 lbs* Ability to be flexible with your schedule during peak harvest seasonsAre you motivated and a self-starter? Do you have excellent written and oral communication skills? Are you comfortable climbing ladders and riding in a man-lift? Do you have the desire to be involved in agriculture and work for a cooperative? If so, you may be perfect for this position in agriculture!WORK SCHEDULEThe typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm and from 7:30 am to noon on Saturdays as needed.
