Job Description Summary

The Planning & Materials Leader coordinates and expedites the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedule. The Planning & Materials Leader is also responsible for planning and scheduling material/production needs and oversees a large team of salaried and hourly professionals.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead master planning, material processes and systems, as well as prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs.

  • Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs.

  • Hold vendors accountable to TAC/ Quality

  • Optimize inventory and process improvements

  • Manage material flow in and out of business though warehouse; oversee shipping and receiving teams

  • Own site capacity plan and coordination between key players ensuring each business area is right sized for success.

  • Influence the development of strategy, including control of resources and influences policy formulation

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience

  • Prior experience as a people leader; demonstrated ability to lead large teams in a manufacturing environment preferred

Desired Characteristics:

  • Aviation industry experience preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
