Job Description: Job Objectives:Performs general maintenance and repair duties on County infrastructure. Participates in snow/ice removal procedures and right of way mowing. Essential Job Functions:Repair asphalt, gravel and concrete surfaced roadsAssists with installation, repair and maintenance of culvertsGeneral maintenance work in grading, patching and maintaining improved & unimproved roadsAssists with applying cold patch or hot mix asphalt to fix potholesMaintenance, repair and replacement of work zone and basic roadway signageFills cracks in road surfaceWorks as flagman during road construction projects.Wears PPE and follows local, state and federal safety regulationsOperates light and medium weight equipment for road construction workOperates a wheeled tractor with attachments for mowing and other projects along County right of wayOperates a dump truck for hauling materialAssists with loading and unloading material and equipmentConducts basic preventative maintenance on vehicles & equipmentPerforms manual work associated with equipment operationsParticipates in snow and ice removal operationsOperates a dump truck with blade and spreader to clear roads of snow and iceOperates loader to load material for snow & ice removalRides shotgun with other operators to assist with snow & ice removalMaintains equipment in good conditionEnsures equipment is cleaned, fueled and loaded for follow on shiftReports problems immediately to shift supervisor Competencies:Initiative: Actively seeks and identifies opportunities to contribute to and achieve goals.
