Title: CNC Department Manager - Department: Herington Plant - Reports to: Cut Stone Manager

Description Summary

The Department Manager carries out CNC scheduling and production plans as a teams primary member. Additionally, this individual will build and draw computer-based plans for upload to production equipment. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining efficiency and constant operation at all times with a simultaneous focus on safety.

\ Job Summary

Work with scheduler and production management team to plan for each two-week schedule.

Must educate and direct all operators to maximum production capacities.

Must deliver job completion on all orders.

Must understand and initiate all machine care and preventative maintenance procedures.

Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions.

Print tickets, job sheets, patterns, etc. as needed by production employees.

Assist Supervisors in location of slabs, paperwork, or assistance in finishing products.

Design and upload profile work to flash drives for Infinity and Jaguar machines.

Work with Slabbing plan to keep enough raw material in queue for Infinity and Northwood schedules.

Load and unload Infinity table and Northwood table, as needed, sending good pieces to the next production area.

And any other duties assigned by General Plant Manager, Plant Production Manager, or scheduler.

Must adhere to all health and safety practices and procedures.

Must work to be an excellent teammate exhibiting a willingness to help/train co-workers as needed.

Carries out any additional duties as assigned by the plant management team.

\ Minimum requirements

Must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.

Must be willing and able to utilize (or learn to utilize) computer based and mechanical equipment in the workplace.

Must work well within a team environment. Must be reliable and self-motivated.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Must be on time and ready to work each workday unless prior management arrangements have been made.

Must be willing and able to utilize computer-based equipment in the workplace. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Must be profiecent in AutoCAD and CNC programing. Preferred profiencency in AlphaCam and 3D modeling a plus.

\ Education

High School diploma, relevant skills training required. Candidates with additional education are strongly encouraged to apply.

Technicians who have specialized skills may advance to new opportunities more quickly.

\ Classification and Advancement

Level 1: Learns to plan and execute the production schedule. Aids all operators to keep production pace and minimize downtime. Learns needed inventory levels and adjusts if needed. Follows through on required reports and answers questions if presented..

Level 2: Follows through on maintenance schedules and upkeep machinery. Initiates plans to improve production in the area. Learns to plan and execute delivery of all orders on current production schedule.

Level 3: Assists in absence of Production Manager. Understands how to complete orders without disrupting normal production. Develop improvement plans for increased production and maintenance scheduling. Understands JIT block inventories. Coaches operators produce at maximum capacities. Works with PMT to write night/weekend production plans.
