Kansas Employer Agricultural Equipment Operator in Great Bend, Kansas

This job was posted by https://www.kansasworks.com : For more information, please see: https://www.kansasworks.com/jobs/12773046 Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment to till soil; work ground; prepare and maintain land; and plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, cultivate, harvest, and transport crops to elevator or storage area. Equipment that workers may be required to operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements, sprayers, combines, back-hoes, mowers, track-hoes, ATVs, side-by-sides. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Job will also require participating in irrigation activities including laying pipe, walking length of irrigation pipe to puncture it at set intervals, setting up and operating irrigation equipment, clearing and maintaining irrigation ditches, operating well motors, operating and maintaining pivots, draining excess water from fields, and monitoring fields to check on and maintain adequate water supply to crops; loading seed into planters; properly mixing chemicals; loading chemicals into sprayers; collecting and spreading manure; changing combine cutting heads; welding for equipment repair; performing general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage sheds, pivot points, buildings, barns and all farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; regularly servicing equipment; receiving crop for storage at grain storage facility; disposing of spoiled grain; transporting grain from fields to grain bins; loading and unloading grain into trucks while keeping grain level; operating augers and grain conveying equipment; monitoring grain moisture levels; preparing scale tickets; and shoveling grain. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers\' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

Workers will report to work at the specified time and place each day as directed by the employer and must be able and willing to perform. Excessive tardiness or absences is not permitted. Excessive tardiness is defined as unexcused arrival for work after the regularly scheduled time for five unexcused days within a 30-day period or late arrival for three consecutive days. Excessive absence is defined as 5 days of unexcused absence within a 30-day period or three consecutive days of unexcused absence. Workers must report any absence from work prior to the scheduled start time. Due to conditions outside of the employers control such as weather, crop condition, etc., workers should expect occasional periods of little or no work any time throughout the contract period. Workers may not extend/abuse work breaks to use sanitation facilities including toilet and hand washing facilities.
